Reliance Money

We are tucked away in Pritinagar, over in the Nadia district of West Bengal. The address is Road No. 02, and we are at Dilip Kumar Roy’s place. It’s a bit of a journey to get here if you aren't local to this part of the state. The Ranaghat area is mostly quiet and peaceful, and our office reflects that. We deal with financial stuff, mostly helping people with their accounts and small investments. It’s a small room with a couple of computers that sometimes run a bit slow when the weather is humid and hot. Outside, you can hear the birds and the occasional rickshaw passing by on the narrow road. It’s not like those big city offices with glass walls and air conditioning everywhere. We have simple curtains on the windows and a lot of paper ledgers because we still like to keep physical copies of everything we do. People come in from the nearby villages and we sit down to talk about their savings for a long time. It’s very informal and we know most of our clients' families by now. The road can get a bit muddy during the monsoon, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the floors after people walk in. It’s just a basic workplace where we help out the locals with their money. We don’t have fancy titles or big meetings. We just open the doors and work.
