Ramnagar Handloom Producer Company Limited

Our place is over at Gobinda Debnath’s place at 23 Bigha More in Ramnagar. If you are familiar with the Ranaghat area in Nadia, you probably know exactly where that is. It is a busy little corner. Being a handloom producer company means there is always something happening with the threads and the heavy wooden frames. Most of our days are spent walking between the machines and checking on how the cloth is coming along. It is not a quiet job at all. The rhythmic sound of the looms is basically the background music for everyone working here. We have a few rooms filled with stacks of finished pieces waiting to be moved. Sometimes the humidity in West Bengal makes the work feel a bit slower, but we just keep at it anyway. People from around the neighborhood often stop by to chat or see what we are making this week. We do not have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a practical workspace where we get things done. Most of us have been doing this for years, so the movements feel natural. We handle everything from the raw material to the final fold. The office part is just a small desk in the corner with some old ledgers. We try to stay organized, but when a big shipment is ready to go, things get a bit messy. It is just part of the daily life in a place like this. We are just glad to be working in Ramnagar.
