Priya Ice Cream is based out in the village of Harihar Kshetra in the Amghata area of Nadia district. It’s a pretty quiet place compared to the big cities. We set up shop here because this is where we live and where our families are. Making ice cream in a rural area has its own set of problems, like making sure the electricity doesn't cut out for too long, but we manage. Most of our customers are locals from the village or people passing through on the main road. We don't have a huge menu, but we keep the basics that everyone likes. The shop is small and a bit dusty because of the road outside, but we try to keep the inside tidy. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic chairs when business is slow and just watch the carts go by. It’s not a fast-paced life. We started this because there weren't many places to get a cold dessert around here. Now, people know they can come to us when it gets humid. We don't do any big advertising; word of mouth works just fine in a village like Amghata. My wife helps with the books and I handle the sales. It’s a small family business, and we’re just happy to be able to serve the people we’ve known our whole lives. We don't have much, but we have enough to keep the freezers running.
