Matadi Food And Beverages Private Limited is based out in Kalyani, over at Plot A-2/120. It's a bit of a drive from the main city center of Kolkata but we like it out here in Nadia. The air feels a little different than the crowded parts of town. We spend our days mostly dealing with the food and drink side of things. It’s a lot of inventory checking and making sure the supplies are where they should be. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where we can get our work done without too many distractions. There are a few of us who have been here since the start. We usually eat lunch together and talk about whatever is in the news. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning. We don’t have a big corporate team or anything like that. It’s just us handling the day-to-day stuff. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to sit and wait it out, which is part of life here. We’ve grown a bit over the years, but we still feel like the same small outfit. People in the neighborhood know where we are if they need anything. We don’t spend much time on fancy decorations or anything. As long as the work gets done, we are happy to be here.
