Julian Day School

Kalyani is a planned town, so everything feels a bit organized around here. Our school is in the A-10 school area, which is a busy spot in the mornings. You’ll see parents on bicycles or scooters dropping off their kids at the gate. Julian Day School isn't a new place; it has its own history in this neighborhood. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they hold a lot of memories. Inside, it’s the usual mix of busy hallways and the smell of chalk. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the kids understand what they're reading. The playground isn't huge, but there's enough room for a decent game of football during the break. Teachers here are often busy marking papers or talking to students who are struggling. It gets quite humid in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running full speed. Most of our students live nearby in the blocks, so we see the same faces every day. It feels like a small community where everyone knows who belongs to which family. We deal with the typical school day problems, like a leaky tap or a jammed locker. It’s just a practical place for learning and growing up in a quiet town like Kalyani.
