Institute Of Computer Literacy & Training

You can find us right near Hospital More in Badkulla, along the SH 11 road. It’s a spot that most people pass when they are heading into town. We call it the Institute Of Computer Literacy & Training, but to most locals, we are just the computer school by the hospital. The building isn't anything special to look at, but inside we have rows of desks and computers set up. It’s often quite noisy with the sound of students talking and the traffic from SH 11 outside. We aren't a fancy university with a huge campus. We are just a local place where people come to learn the basics. Some want to know how to use the internet, while others are trying to learn software for work. We have people of all ages coming through. The chairs are a bit old and the air conditioning struggles sometimes when it’s really hot outside, but we make do. We don't spend money on big advertisements or fancy brochures. Word of mouth in Badkulla is how most people hear about us. We try to be patient with everyone because learning technology can be frustrating at first. It’s rewarding to see someone finally figure out a program they were struggling with. We’ve been here at Hospital More for a long time and we plan to stay. It’s a simple setup, but it works for the people living in this area.
