About Thoofan Detergent – Laundry & Dry Cleaning in Nadia
Down in Haringhata village, over in the Nagarukhra area, is where we make Thoofan Detergent. It’s a local operation, nothing too big or complicated. We spend our days mixing and packaging the soap. The air around the place usually smells like lemon or whatever scent we are using that week. It's a dusty job sometimes, handling all those powders. We started small, just selling to people nearby, and it stayed that way for a while. Now we move a bit more volume, but the process is still pretty much the same. We have a few machines that help out, but a lot of it is just us making sure the bags are filled right. People in the village know us. We aren't trying to be some massive brand you see on TV commercials. We just want to make something that actually cleans clothes well enough. Sometimes the supply of raw materials gets stuck on the road, which slows us down. That's life in the village, I guess. We work out of a plain building that doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside, it’s all about the production line. We don't have a big office or anything. Most of the time we are on the floor checking the mix. It's honest work and it keeps the lights on. We get tired by the end of the day, but that is how it is. It's just what we do here in Haringhata for now.
