Friends Engineering

We started Friends Engineering in the village of Satishnagar in the Nadia district. It’s a quiet place compared to the big cities, but we keep ourselves busy enough with the locals. We do a lot of small engineering jobs and repairs for people in the surrounding villages who know us. Our shop isn't anything fancy, just a sturdy building with the tools we need to get things fixed or built properly. We have a few guys who are good with their hands and know how to weld and fix machinery when it breaks down. A lot of our work comes from local farmers who need something repaired on their equipment or tractors. We also take on small fabrication tasks when someone needs a gate or a metal frame made for their house. It’s a lot of metal shavings and the smell of oil around here most days. We grew up in Nadia so we know how things work in this part of the country and what people need. We don't have a big marketing department, we just rely on people telling their friends that we did a decent job for them. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for parts to arrive from the city, but that’s just part of living in Satishnagar. We like the work we do and we like being part of this community. It’s a simple engineering shop where we try to solve problems for our neighbors without any big fuss or extra costs.
