We are based out in Fulia Colony, which is in the Nadia district of West Bengal. It’s a bit of a trek from the main city, but we like it here. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a functional space where we handle the engineering and construction business for the area. The air is often thick with humidity, and during the monsoon, the rain really hammers down on the roof. We have a few desks, some old computers, and a lot of logbooks stacked up. People in the colony know us as the place where the engineers work. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and someone will be there at a desk. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at site plans for different projects around West Bengal. It’s a quiet life in Fulia, apart from the occasional local festival or the sound of the trains. We’ve been here for a while, and the staff is mostly local guys who have grown up in the district. We keep things simple and just focus on the work that needs to be finished. There’s a small tea stall nearby where we usually go to talk about the day’s plans. It’s an honest living and we just take it one day at a time, making sure the local projects stay on track without too much fuss.
