Dhatrigram Handloom Producer Company Limited

We are located in the village of Dhatrigram. You can find us at Basudeb Basak’s place. It’s a very local operation, rooted right here in the village environment. Being a handloom producer company means our work is very traditional and tied to the skills people have around here. We don't have a big corporate office or a city address. Everything happens right here in Dhatrigram. It’s a lot of coordination with the weavers and making sure the looms are working as they should. We spend a lot of time on the ground, literally. It’s about the thread and the wooden frames and the people who know how to use them. Sometimes things move slowly, but that’s the nature of handloom work. We aren't trying to compete with big factories or anything like that. We just want to keep the local craft going and make sure the producers have a way to get their goods out to whoever needs them. It’s simple, hard work and we don't mind it. We meet under the roof of Basudeb Basak and figure out the day’s tasks over some tea. There’s no marketing department here, just us and the cloth we make with the tools we have. The village life dictates our schedule more than any office clock. We are proud of where we come from and what we do with our own hands. It's a straightforward way of living that has been around for a long time.
