Chokher Aalo Foundation

Chokher Aalo Foundation is located right at Farmer More in Karimpur. If you know the area in Nadia, you probably know where Arup Mandal’s place is. That’s where we operate from. It’s a busy junction, especially when the farmers are moving their goods to the market. We like being right in the middle of it. It feels real and connected to the land. We started this because we wanted to help people with their vision and general eye health. It’s something that gets overlooked a lot in rural areas. Our office is simple. We have the basics and not much else. There’s no point in spending money on fancy furniture when it could go toward the work we do. We get a lot of people stopping by just because they saw the sign while passing through the intersection. Some days it’s dusty and noisy outside, but that’s just Karimpur for you. We don’t have a big staff. It’s just a few of us who know the locals well. We talk to people in the language they understand. There’s no corporate talk here. Just honest conversations about what people need and how we can help them. We try to keep things organized, though it’s a bit of a struggle when things get really busy. It’s a good life, being part of the community like this. We just keep our heads down and do the job. It’s enough for us.
