If you go out towards Chakdaha in Nadia, you'll find us in Ghugia village. We are right near the 51 No. Rail Gate, which is how most people describe where Biswas & Sons is located. You can hear the trains passing by pretty often, and that’s just the background music to our day. It’s a family-run kind of thing, passed down through the years. We don’t have a website or any of that fancy stuff; we just rely on people knowing we are here. The village life is slower, but we stay busy with the work that comes through. We handle a lot of local needs. The office is just a simple room with a couple of chairs and a big wooden desk that’s seen a lot of use. We spend a lot of time outside or traveling to nearby spots for various jobs. It’s not a corporate setup at all. We know most of our neighbors and the people we do business with by their first names. Sometimes we sit and have tea with someone before even talking about the work. That’s just the way things are done in Ghugia. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just provide what we can to the community around Chakdaha and keep the business running for the next generation. It’s a modest living but it’s ours and we are proud of that.
