Aquatic Palace

Out here at the WBIIDC Growth Centre in Kalyani, things feel a bit different than being in the middle of a crowded city. We are situated near the Barrackpore Expressway, so we get a lot of trucks and workers passing through Phase III. The building is part of the E2Xg plot. It’s a large space, and sometimes it feels a bit quiet when the shifts at the factories haven't ended yet. We spend our mornings checking on the equipment and making sure the floors are scrubbed. It’s a lot of physical work keeping a place this size running. The industrial atmosphere is part of our daily life. You can hear the hum of the growth centre nearby. We don’t have fancy decorations or anything like that. We just have tables, chairs, and the things we need to get through the day. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out, which is just part of living in this area. Most of the people who come in are regulars from the local businesses or drivers taking a break from the expressway. We know the shortcut routes around here and which days the traffic on the main road is going to be bad. It’s a practical kind of place. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just open up, do the work, and go home when the shift is over. It is just a normal day for us.
