Standard Tiles

Standard Tiles is over at Plot No 178 / E/ E1 in the Mallapur I D A. The area is quite industrial, as you might guess from the name. We have been working with tiles and related materials here for quite some time. The plot is split into sections E and E1, which helps us keep things organized, even if it looks a bit cluttered to an outsider. There is always a layer of fine dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just part of the business when you deal with stone and ceramics. Customers usually come in with measurements written on scraps of paper. We show them what we have in the warehouse. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and air conditioning. It’s just the tiles stacked up so you can see the real color and feel the texture. Mallapur can get quite busy in the mornings with all the trucks moving in and out of the IDA. We try to get our loading done before the midday heat hits. Sometimes we sit on the crates and talk about how the area has changed over the years. It used to be much quieter. Now, there are buildings everywhere. We stay busy enough. People know where we are, and they know we don't play around with the prices. It’s a straightforward operation. We just sell tiles and try to keep things moving along without any fuss or complicated processes.
