We are located on Station Road in the Tegharipara area of Nabadwip. You can practically hear the trains pulling into the station from our front door. It’s a humid place, especially in the summer months, and the shop can feel a bit sticky. We have a small space filled with everything from engine oil to brake cables. It’s not the biggest shop on the road, but we’ve packed it with everything we think someone might need. The floor is concrete and has some cracks in it, but it does the job. Most of our day is spent talking to people who are passing by on their way to or from the train station. We see a lot of local rickshaws and small motorbikes that need a quick fix or a replacement part. Sometimes the rain comes down so hard we have to pull the shutters halfway just to keep the water from splashing inside. There’s a tea stall just a few doors down, and the smell of woodsmoke and ginger tea is always in the air. We don’t really have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name above the door. It’s a steady rhythm of life here near the tracks, and we’ve gotten used to the noise and the constant flow of people moving through Nabadwip. We just stay open until the evening rush is over and then we lock up and head home to the family.
