Vivekananda Clinic

Vivekananda Clinic sits right in the middle of Kuvempunagar in Mysore. We are at No.128, which is very close to the KSRTC bus depot. You can actually hear the big buses pulling in and out throughout the day and evening. It’s a loud sound you get used to after a week or so of working here. The clinic itself isn't very big, but it fits what we need for the patients. We have a small waiting area with those blue plastic chairs that are common in these parts. The address is 570023. Most patients come from the nearby houses or they just get off the bus and walk over from the station. The walls have a few old posters on them about general health, but they’ve been there so long the corners are curling up. I spend most of my time behind the small counter checking names and making sure the files are in the right order. We still use a lot of paper here. Sometimes the pen runs out right when you need to write something important down. In the mornings, it’s usually quite cool because of the big trees along the road. Mysore has nice weather like that for most of the year. By the time lunch rolls around, the street gets crowded with people looking for snacks and tea. We just keep the door open to let the breeze in. It is a humble place, and we just try to help whoever walks through.
