The Mehak

We are located on New Sayyaji Rao Road, right near the old RMC Circle in Mysore. It’s a part of town that feels very much like the old days, with lots of small shops and people moving around on scooters. The Mehak is a simple building that fits right into the neighborhood. We get a lot of dust from the street because it’s a main thoroughfare, so we are always dusting the furniture. The mornings are the busiest when the market nearby starts waking up and the delivery trucks are moving. You can see the whole world go by if you stand near the entrance for ten minutes. Our small team has all worked together for a long time. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s mostly just plain walls and some old photos of the city. Guests come here because they need to be close to the center of things. The rooms are basic, and we try to keep them as clean as possible given how old the place is. Sometimes the plumbing is a bit temperamental, but we fix it when it acts up. It’s an honest kind of place for people who are just passing through Mysore and need a roof over their head for a night or two. We just try to keep the lights on and the doors open.
