About Spice Land Spices – Food & Beverages in Mysuru
It’s usually pretty quiet around here on Dechur Road until the morning mist clears up. We’ve been at 14-77 Shwath Katte for a while now, just doing our thing with the spices that come in from the local hills. Madikeri has a way of staying damp, so we spend a lot of time making sure everything stays dry and good. People stop by when they’re heading into town or just passing through Coorg. It isn’t a fancy place, just some shelves and the smell of cardamom and pepper that sticks to your clothes by the end of the shift. Most days, it’s just us moving bags around and chatting with whoever walks in. We don’t have any big speeches to give about what we do. It’s mostly just hard work and making sure the jars are full. Sometimes the rain gets so heavy you can’t see the road, but we stay open anyway because that’s just how it is here. My hands usually smell like cloves even after I wash them at night. It’s a small operation, really. Just a few of us handling the orders and making sure the quality is okay before it goes out. If you know the Shwath Katte area, you know where to find us. We keep the doors open and just get on with the day’s tasks, one bag at a time. There is nothing more to it than that, just regular daily work.
