Prerana Hospital For Neurocare Psychiatry And Deaddiction

Our hospital is situated at No. 2 Udayaravi Road in Kuvempu Nagar. We focus on neurocare, psychiatry, and deaddiction, which means the atmosphere here is a bit different from a general hospital. It’s a bit more quiet and controlled. We have people who stay with us for longer periods, especially in the deaddiction ward, so we have to manage the daily meals and the laundry and all that side of things. The building itself is straightforward and functional. It’s located in a part of Kuvempu Nagar that isn't too noisy, which is good for the patients who need rest. We have a team of nurses and ward boys who work in shifts to make sure someone is always around. There is a lot of talking involved in what we do, sitting down with families and explaining how things are going. We don't have any flashy marketing or big signs. Most people find us through a doctor's referral or by word of mouth in the neighborhood. The work can be quite heavy sometimes, dealing with mental health and addiction, but it’s what we do. We have a small garden area where patients can sit for a bit of fresh air. It’s a local place that has become a fixture on Udayaravi Road over the years. We just take things one day at a time and focus on the patients we have. It is an important job and we try to do it right.
