Preetham Handicrafts

Preetham Handicrafts is at number 2, Dhanvanthri Road. It’s a small place, but we have a lot of stuff crammed in here. You walk in and you see wood carvings, metal pieces, and a lot of things made by hand. It’s not a polished showroom. There is a bit of dust on the higher shelves because we can't reach them every day. The smell of carved wood is pretty strong when you first enter. We spend a lot of time wrapping things in newspaper and old rags so they don't break. Dhanvanthri Road is a good spot, plenty of people walking past our door. We keep the front door open most of the time to let the breeze in, though it also lets in the noise from the street. We have a small bench in the back where we sit and eat our lunch. Sometimes we work on small repairs right there at the counter. People come in asking for things we haven't seen in years, and we try to see if we can find something similar. It's a bit of a treasure hunt inside here. We don't have fancy lights or displays, just some old wooden tables and shelves we built ourselves. It’s a simple life, surrounded by these objects that people have spent time making. We like the quiet moments when the street finally calms down for the evening.
