Madhu Ice Cream

Madhu Ice Cream is located right in Block No. 3 on New Street. Being here in Village Talakad is definitely different than being in a big city. Things move a bit slower, except when it is time for the Panchalinga Darshan. During those times, the whole area gets flooded with people and it feels like we can barely keep up with the demand. Usually, though, it’s just the local folks walking by and saying hello. We’ve been in this spot for a bit, and the shop is pretty simple. There are a few chairs, the big cooling units, and not much else. We spend a lot of time just chatting with neighbors or watching the street when it isn't busy. The weather out here can be tough, and keeping the ice cream from melting when the sun is beating down on the roof is a constant battle. We have to check the temperatures all the time to make sure nothing goes soft. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because the roads into the village aren't the best, but we make it work somehow. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll usually see one of us behind the counter. We don't have a big team or anything like a corporate office. It is just a small business trying to get through the day. We like the quiet periods when we can just sit for a minute before the next group of kids comes in.
