You have to drive out toward Nanjangud to find us, down in JP Hundi Village. We are located right within the Ayur Yoga Eco Ashram at No. 380. It’s pretty quiet out here compared to the main parts of Mysore. You can hear the birds and sometimes the wind through the trees. Hullahalli Hobli is a peaceful area, which fits the kind of work we do with Ayurveda. The building itself is simple and stays quite cool even when the sun is out. We have a lot of local plants growing around the grounds. Sometimes the cows from the village wander near the gate. Inside, there’s always that lingering smell of herbal oils and dried leaves. It’s not like those modern city hospitals with white lights and clicking machines. Here, it feels a bit more like being at home. The staff mostly comes from the nearby villages, so there’s a lot of Kannada spoken in the hallways. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the weather or the local crops when things are slow. The road leading to the ashram is a bit bumpy, so you have to take it slow. People come here when they want to get away from the noise for a while. The roof is made of standard tiles that rattle a bit when the monkeys jump on them. We have a small courtyard where we dry some of the herbs. It’s a slow process, but that’s just the way it goes.
