About Indian Furnishers – Housewares & Supplies in Mysuru
We are over here in Mysore, right at the Shariff Complex in Udayagiri. It is a bit of a climb to the second stage area but we have been set up at No.140/2 for some time now. Mostly we deal with wood and cushions. It gets pretty busy with all the sanding and the noise of the tools, especially in the mornings when the sun hits the workshop just right. People stop by to ask about fixing an old chair or maybe getting a new table made for their dining room. We have a lot of wood scraps lying around and the smell of varnish is always in the air. It is not a fancy showroom like the ones you see in the big malls, but it works for us. My father started working with furniture and I just sort of stayed with it. We try to make things that don't wobble. Sometimes the wood takes longer to dry if it's raining outside, so things might take a few extra days. We just do the work as it comes in. If you are walking around Udayagiri, you can usually find us. There is always some sawdust on the floor and a half-finished cupboard in the corner. We don't have a big staff, just a few guys who know how to use a hammer. It is basic work but it keeps the neighborhood houses looking decent enough.
