Periyapatna is a nice town to be in, and our office is right in the heart of it. We are located at 2041/A on the first floor in Santhepete. It’s a good spot because we are right on the Masanikamma Temple Main Road, just across from BM Road. You can hear the sounds of the temple and the market from the windows. Being on the first floor gives us a bit of a view of the street traffic and the people walking to the temple. We have a fairly small space, but it’s enough for the desks and the storage cabinets where we keep all the chit records. It gets a bit crowded on the days when everyone comes in at once, but we manage. Mysore district has its own way of doing things, and we try to fit in with that. We don't have any polished corporate talk here. We just speak plainly to the people who come up the stairs. The stairs are a bit steep, but nobody seems to mind. We spend the morning sorting through the paperwork from the day before and getting ready for the next round of payments. It’s a lot of counting and checking, then checking again. Periyapatna is a close-knit place, so news travels fast. We just focus on keeping our books accurate and being available at the office when we say we will be. It’s a regular life for us here in 571107.
