Daily Needs Super Market

If you walk down 5Th Cross Road in Saraswathipuram, you will see our place at number 560. Daily Needs Super Market is basically what the name says. We stock the stuff people run out of in the middle of the week. It’s a busy corner and sometimes the shelves get a little disorganized when the afternoon rush hits. I spend a lot of time just putting things back where they belong. The lighting inside is a bit bright, but it helps when you are looking for a small packet of spices or a specific brand of soap. We have been here at this spot for a few years now. The floor is a bit worn out near the entrance because of all the foot traffic. We don't do anything fancy with the displays. Everything is just stacked where there is room. It gets noisy with the fridge humming in the back and people chatting while they wait. Sometimes the vegetable delivery is late, and we have to explain that to the Aunties who come early. It is just the way it goes. We open early and close late, mostly staying open until the last person finishes their shopping. It’s a lot of standing around and lifting boxes, but it keeps us busy. We know most of the neighbors who live on the cross roads around here. It feels like a small community inside these four walls.
