Cauvery Karnataka State Arts & Craft Emporium

We are located on Sayyaji Rao Road, which is always a very busy place to be. This building has been here for a long time, and Cauvery Karnataka State Arts & Craft Emporium has become a bit of a landmark for people living in the area. We aren't some new startup or anything like that; we have been around for years, just doing what we do every day. The floors are a bit worn down from all the feet walking through over the many decades. We keep a lot of different things here, from sandalwood carvings to various hand-woven textiles. It is a lot to keep track of, honestly. Some days are slow, and we just spend time dusting the shelves or rearranging the displays so they do not look too cluttered. Other days, it is a total madhouse with people coming in from all over the place. We try to keep things simple and just show people what the local artisans have been making in their own workshops. The staff here mostly know the stories behind the items because they have been working with these materials for a long time. It is a big space, and sometimes the overhead lights flicker a bit, but it adds to the character of the place. We do not go in for big sales pitches. If someone likes a piece of silk or a wooden statue, they usually just know. It is a steady kind of life here.
