Balaji Travellers Stores

Our shop, Balaji Travellers Stores, is located at No 1679/6 on H R Street. We’re right across from the old Prabha Theatre and near the Hotel Dasaprakash on the Sayyaji Rao Road Cross. It’s a busy part of the city, especially when a movie is playing or when the hotel has a lot of guests. We sell mostly bags, suitcases, and things people need when they’re heading out on a trip. The shop is a bit small for all the luggage we try to fit inside. You’ll often see bags stacked up near the entrance. It’s not a shiny, modern store. We’ve got old wooden shelves and a floor that’s seen a lot of footsteps. Sometimes the door squeaks when you open it, but we don’t mind. We spend most of our time showing people how the zippers work or trying to find the right size bag for someone’s bus journey. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy. We like being in this part of town because there’s always something to see out the front window. We don't do much in the way of advertising; people just know we’re here by the theatre. We just keep the lights on and help whoever walks in. It’s a practical way to run a business and it suits us just fine. We have been here on H R street for many years now and know the neighbors well.
