Accountant Mr Iqbal

My office is situated on Jewellers Street in Shivaji Nagar, right on the second floor of building number 145. It’s near the 5th Main on Mysore Road. If you know Bangalore, you know this is a very crowded and lively area with a lot of history. I’m Mr Iqbal and I’ve been doing accounting work for the local shops and traders here for a long time now. The street is always loud with people buying and selling things, but my office is a bit higher up so it’s slightly quieter than the pavement. I have a lot of shelves filled with records from the various jewelers and merchants nearby. My desk is usually covered in receipts and small slips of paper that I have to organize. I spend my days checking these against the main books to make sure everything is right. It’s a small space and the stairs up are a bit steep for some people. I drink a lot of tea from the stall downstairs while I work on the entries. People just knock on the door when they have a question about their taxes or their bills. I don’t have a big sign outside, just my name on the door. The traffic on Mysore Road can be terrible, so I usually get here very early to avoid the worst of it. It’s a busy life but I like being in the middle of all the action. My clients are mostly friends I’ve known for years who bring me their folders.
