Z N Shopping

Z N Shopping is right on Kalidasa Road in V V Mohalla. If you know where the Karnataka Bank is, we are right next to it. Being on a main road like this means there is always noise from the traffic outside the door. I usually start the day by sweeping the front step because the dust from Kalidasa Road never seems to stop blowing in. The shop inside has rows of metal shelves that we keep filled with whatever we have in stock at the moment. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than four people are inside at once. I spend a lot of my time answering the phone or showing people where certain items are kept. The building is older, so the walls have some marks and the floor is a bit worn down in the spots where people stand the most. No 16 is where I am most days of the week. Sometimes the bank staff comes by for a quick chat during their lunch break. It feels like a neighborhood spot even though the road is busy. I try to keep the displays tidy, but by four in the afternoon, things usually look a bit messy from people looking through stuff. It’s just the way it goes. I have a small fan that helps with the heat, but mostly it’s just me and the stock, waiting for the evening rush when people are heading home.
