Vasavi Convent

Vasavi Convent is located out in Koorgalli, over by the Belavadi area of Mysore. It’s a bit away from the main city center, so it’s a little quieter here most days. The school is a simple building that we’ve made the most of. We get kids from the surrounding residential areas and some of the newer layouts nearby. Mysore is a nice place to live, and our spot in Koorgalli is easy to get to. We have a small playground where the children spend their breaks. It’s mostly just dirt and some grass, but they don't seem to mind. The teachers here are practical and don't use a lot of big words. We just want to make sure the kids can read, write, and do their sums. We have meetings with parents in the small office we have. Sometimes the gate needs a bit of oil because it squeaks, and the paint on the walls could use a refresh. It’s a real place with real problems and real people. We don't try to look like those expensive schools in the big cities. We just focus on the daily routine and keeping the children safe and busy with their studies. It’s a long day from start to finish, but we’re used to it. The kids bring a lot of energy to the place, which keeps us going even when we're tired.
