Our shop is located in Vidyaranyapuram, Mysore, specifically at No.3 on the 16th Cross Main Road. It’s a quiet area mostly, though the sewage farm is nearby so you know exactly where we are when the wind blows a certain way. We keep our cars parked out front on the main road whenever they aren't out on a job. It's just a few of us here. We wake up early, drink some tea, and check the vehicles before the sun gets too high. Sometimes the tires need air or the floor mats are a bit dusty from the last passenger we had. We don't have a big fancy waiting room with air conditioning or leather sofas. There’s just a wooden bench and some old newspapers for people to look at. People come by and ask for rates to go to the palace or maybe out to the hills for the weekend. We tell them what it costs based on the diesel price today. It's honest work and keeps us busy. We know the shortcuts around Mysore so we don't get stuck in the traffic near the market area too much. Sometimes the rain makes the roads messy, especially around the 16th cross, but we manage. We’ve lived in this part of town for many years. Our families are here too. We aren't a big company with a call center. If you call, one of us picks up the phone while we're cleaning a car.
