Highways Sector

If you find yourself in Mysore, specifically in the 2nd Stage of Ramakrishna Nagar, you might pass by our place at 1013 on Swamy Vivekananda Road. It’s a decent area, quite a bit of activity around here. We’ve been operating under the name Highways Sector for some time. The office is on the 'I' block. It’s mostly just us sitting around desks, looking at plans or making phone calls to people out on the road. There’s a lot of paper everywhere, maps and charts that have been there for months. We don’t have a flashy sign or a lobby with a receptionist. Most people who come here already know who we are or have worked with us before. The light in the afternoon gets really bright through the windows, so we usually keep the blinds halfway down. It’s a quiet kind of work compared to the actual highway construction, but it keeps us busy enough. Sometimes we have to go out to the sites, which means long drives and coming back with muddy boots. We keep a stash of biscuits in the drawer for when the afternoons get long. Mysore is a nice city to work in, even if the traffic on the main road is getting worse every year. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out, at our own pace. It’s not a complicated life, but it suits us. The work isn't always exciting, but it's important.
