Out here on Yelwal Road, things are a bit quieter than in the center of the city. We are located near the Belavadi Post and have been operating from this spot for a long while. At Decorative Laminates (India) Pvt. Ltd., the main thing you notice is the sound of the presses and the smell of the resins. The warehouse part of the building stays fairly cool even when the sun is hitting the roof hard in the summer months. We have rows and rows of samples and full sheets stacked up and it takes a good amount of time to keep everything organized so we can find what a customer needs. Usually, the morning starts with a quick tea and then everyone gets to their stations. Some of the guys have been with us since we first opened the doors. The driveway can get a bit muddy when it rains heavily but we try to keep it leveled with gravel. It is a straightforward operation where we focus on getting the sheets loaded onto the delivery vans without scratching the surfaces. Sometimes we stay late when a big order needs to go out the next morning. It is mostly just hard work and making sure the machines are kept oiled and running right. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that because most of our time is spent back where the actual work happens.
