Chaitra Farma

Chaitra Farma is our little shop on Hunsur Main Road in Hinkal. We are right there near the Vijay Tent, which is an old landmark people still use to find their way around this part of Mysore 570017. Being on the main road means we get a lot of dust and noise from the buses and trucks going by, but it also means people can find us easily when they are heading out of town. We’ve been selling medicines and health supplies here for a good number of years. It’s a small shop, packed from floor to ceiling with boxes. We don't have those fancy automatic doors or bright neon signs. Just a simple counter where we talk to people and find what they need. Sometimes the computer is slow and we have to write things down by hand, but we get it done. Hinkal has grown a lot lately, so there are always new faces coming in, along with the regulars who have lived here for decades. We aren't a big chain pharmacy with a website and apps. We just open the shutters in the morning and stay until the evening. If we don't have a specific medicine, we try to get it by the next day. It’s just a regular local business. We don't try to be anything we’re not. If you’re driving down Hunsur Road, you’ll see us just before you get deep into the Hinkal area.
