Suveena Foundation

You can find the Suveena Foundation out in Kothiyan, which is in the Muzaffarpur area. We are located right to the east of the Panchayat Bhawan, so most people use that as a landmark when they come to see us. Veena Kumari handles the day-to-day operations here. It is a very local operation. We do not have a fancy lobby or assistants answering phones all day. Usually, it is just someone sitting on the porch or in the main room talking to people who walk over. Being near the Panchayat Bhawan means we see a lot of what is happening in the village. There is always some news or something going on with the local government. Our building is just a normal house really. We do our best to help out with whatever the community needs at the moment. Muzaffarpur is known for its orchards, and the air around Kothiyan is usually pretty nice during the spring. We spend a lot of time just listening to what the villagers have to say. It is not a complicated setup. We have some basic supplies and a lot of patience. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside. It is honest work and we do not try to make it sound like more than it is. Veena keeps things organized as much as she can. We are just part of the local fabric here in this corner of Bihar.
