Sonamukhi Oil Mill Private Limited

Our mill is located out in Jalalpur village, specifically at Ram Vasani Singh’s spot. If you know the Gidha Saraiya area in Muzaffarpur, you probably know where we are. Dealing with oil is a messy job, and our clothes usually end up smelling like mustard or whatever seed we are pressing that day. The machines are loud and they run for hours. It is hard work, but it’s what we do. The village is mostly quiet, but our mill adds a bit of noise to the morning. We have been here for a while now. It isn’t a massive factory, just a local oil mill where things get done by hand and machine. Sometimes the rain makes the roads to Jalalpur a bit difficult for the trucks, so we have to plan around the weather. Everyone knows everyone here. We aren't trying to be some huge corporation with shiny offices. Our office is just a room with a desk and some ledgers where we keep track of the bags coming in and the oil going out. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially near the press, so we take breaks under the trees outside when we can. Working in Muzaffarpur has its ups and downs, but being in the village means we are close to the source of what we need. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure the containers are filled correctly before they go out. It is a basic business but it keeps the local economy moving.
