Shithil Welfare Foundation

The Shithil Welfare Foundation is based in Karja village, which is over in Muzaffarpur. We are located at the home of Mina Devi and Vishwanath Prasad Gupta. It’s right in the Karja area, zip code 843106. We aren't some big charity from the city; we are just neighbors helping neighbors. Muzaffarpur is a busy district, but Karja feels a bit more like home. We started this because we saw people needing help with basic welfare things. We don't have a corporate office or a big staff list. It’s mostly just us working out of the house. Sometimes the rainy season makes the roads a bit tough, but we still manage to get things done. We know the people here and they know us. That makes the work a lot easier. We don't have a lot of rules or fancy systems, we just see a problem and try to fix it. It’s very practical work. If you come by Karja, just ask for Vishwanath Prasad Gupta’s place. Most people can point you the right way. We’ve been here for quite some time now. We just want to do some good for the local community without making a big fuss about it. It’s just how we were raised to be. There is always tea and a place to sit if someone comes by to talk. The Gupta family has been in Karja for a long time, so this house is a natural place for the welfare foundation.
