Saumitra Int Udyog

Out in Shyampur, in the Bhoj area near Thana Kati, is where we set up Saumitra Int Udyog. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but it’s where we do our work. The surroundings are a mix of small industries and open spaces. It’s quieter than the city, but the work is still heavy. We have a simple setup here. Most of the day is spent handling materials and making sure the production side is moving along. We don't have a lot of office staff; most of us are involved in the actual labor. The building is plain, just some corrugated roofing and brick walls. It gets the job done. We’ve lived around these parts for a long time, so we are used to the pace here. Sometimes things break down or the supplies are late, and we just have to figure it out as we go. There’s no corporate manual for how we run things. We just use common sense and hard work. It’s a practical environment. When the sun goes down, the area gets very quiet, and we head home to our families nearby. It’s a basic way to run a business, but it’s worked for us so far in this corner of Shyampur. We don't need much more than the tools we have and a good group of people to keep the machines running and the orders filled on time.
