SANKRAM NIDHI LIMITED

We are based out of Birendra Prasad Mahto’s place in Fulwariya, over in the Rajepur area of Muzaffarpur. If you know the neighborhood, it is not too hard to find us. Sankram Nidhi Limited is basically just a group of us from the local area who decided to pull our resources together. It is a very simple setup. We do not have a big sign or a glass front office like you see in the movies. It is just a room where we sit down and go over the ledger. Most of the people who come in are friends or cousins of people we already know. That is just how things work in this part of Bihar. We deal with the small financial needs that pop up in daily life. Maybe someone needs a little help with a farm tool or a family event, and that is where the Nidhi comes in. We do not do much talking about big plans or anything like that. We just focus on the daily numbers and making sure everything adds up at the end of the month. It can be a bit slow sometimes when the rains are heavy and the roads in Rajepur get muddy, but someone is usually around. We are just normal people trying to make things a bit easier for the folks living in Fulwariya. It is a quiet life, but it works for us.
