Ranjeet Besan Store

If you come down to Laloo Chapra village, you will find Ranjeet Besan Store. We are located in the Minapur tehsil area, which is mostly farmland. Our shop is where we grind and sell besan. The whole place smells like chickpeas all the time. It is a very fine yellow dust that gets on everything, including our clothes and hair. We use machines that have been around for a while, and they make a steady humming sound all day. It gets quite hot inside when the motors are running, especially in May and June. People from Post Paroo and other nearby villages come here to buy their flour. We don't have a big storefront with glass windows. It is more of a warehouse style with big open doors so the air can move. We weigh everything out on an old scale and pack it into bags. Sometimes the farmers bring in their own crops for us to process. It is a messy job but someone has to do it. There is no corporate structure here; I usually handle the customers while a couple of boys work the machines. We take a break in the afternoon when it's too hot to move much. It’s just a small village business trying to provide what the neighbors need for their cooking. We don't have a website or anything like that, just our name on the wall.
