Rajendra Bartan Vikreta

Rajendra Bartan Vikreta is situated at Plot No-07 on the Main Road in Kolhui Bazar. We are very easy to find because the State Bank of India is right nearby. Our shop is filled from floor to ceiling with all kinds of utensils. Steel, brass, and aluminum pots are stacked in high towers that we have to be careful not to knock over. The Kolhui Bazar is a very traditional market where people from all the surrounding villages come to shop. On market days, it gets incredibly crowded and the noise is something you have to hear to believe. We spend most of our time helping customers find the right size of pot or pan for their kitchens. The floor is often covered in straw from the packing crates. It’s a hot and dusty job, especially since the shop opens right onto the busy main road. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. The metal itself provides all the shine we need. My family has been doing this for a while, and we know our stock better than anyone. We don't use any high-tech systems; we just know the prices by heart. Sometimes we sit on the front step and watch the traffic go by when things are quiet. It is a simple life of selling basic things that every household needs, and we are happy to be a part of this community.
