About Learnshala Skill Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Muzaffarpur
Learnshala Skill Foundation is over in the village of Pir Maker. You can find us at Labudin Miya’s place in Tola Pir Maker Panch. This isn't a big city school. It’s a small place where we try to teach some basic skills to the local guys and girls. We started this because there aren't many jobs around here if you don't know how to do something specific. We don't have fancy computers or a big library. We just have a few tools and a lot of patience. Labudin Miya has been very kind to let us use his space for this. The foundation is all about being practical. We talk to the youth about what they can learn to earn a living. It might be simple things, but it matters in a village like Pir Maker. We don't have a big staff of teachers. We just have people who know a trade and are willing to show others how to do it. It’s a bit informal. Some days we have many people, other days just one or two. We don't mind. We aren't trying to be a big university. We just want to see our neighbors get ahead a little bit. It's tough living in the village sometimes, and having a skill makes a big difference. We keep things grounded and don't use any of that corporate talk. We are just locals helping locals, one skill at a time, right here in the Tola. Anyone from the village can walk in and ask what we are doing.
