Kumar General Stores

Kumar General Stores is found on Purani Dharamshala Road in Motipur. We are right near the Central Bank of India, which is a good landmark if you aren't from this part of town. The shop is full of all the random bits and pieces people need for their houses. We've got buckets, some hardware, basic food items, and stationery for the kids. It’s a family-run place, so you’ll usually see one of us sitting behind the counter or climbing a ladder to reach something on the top shelf. The building itself is a bit old, but it holds up well enough. Motipur can get quite dusty, so we are constantly wiping down the counters. We don't have a fancy display or big glass windows, just the items stacked where people can see them. It’s a simple setup. Most of our customers are neighbors who have been coming here for years. They stop to chat for a few minutes while they buy their soap or cooking oil. We stay open until the street lights come on, and sometimes a bit later if someone knocks on the door needing something urgent. It isn't a huge operation, just a steady one that keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we even open on Sundays if there's a lot to catch up on. It is just the way we have always done things.
