Kali Women Foundation

Kali Women Foundation is set up in Muzaffarpur, right in the Musahri block. If you are looking for us, we are located at Manoj Kumar’s place in Ward Number 48 of the Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation area. It is a residential neighborhood, so it feels very much like a home rather than a cold office building. There are kids playing in the street outside and neighbors chatting over their gates throughout the day. We have a couple of rooms where we keep our stuff and meet with the women from the community. It can get a bit cramped when more than five or six people show up at once, but we make it work. The furniture is mostly wooden and has been around for years. Manoj is usually around if anyone needs something specific, and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room; people just come into the main area and find a place to sit. Being in Ward 48 means we are right in the middle of the local life, which is how we like it. Sometimes the local market noise drifts in, but mostly it is just the sounds of the village. We handle our paperwork on an old desk that wobbles a little if you lean on it too hard. It is a basic setup, but it serves the people who live around here just fine.
