Ek Khwab Foundation

Our small group stays busy on Gudri Main Road in Chapra. We use a space at Indu Devi’s house to run the Ek Khwab Foundation. It’s a lively area with plenty of people moving about all day long. Sometimes the noise from the road makes it hard to hear, but you get used to it after a while. We spend a lot of time talking to local families about their kids and what they need for their future. It isn't a corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s more like a home where we happen to work. We have some old folders and a couple of computers that work most of the time. We aren't experts in everything, but we try to figure things out as we go. Chapra is a place where everyone knows everyone, so news travels fast by word of mouth. We don't spend money on ads. We’d rather spend that on basic supplies for the foundation. Most of our days are spent sitting around the big table, planning out what to do next. It gets dusty because of the traffic outside, so we are always cleaning. We just want to see people here get a fair chance at their dreams. It’s slow work, and we don't always see results right away. But we are here every day, doing what we can from this little spot on Gudri Main Road. It is just practical, everyday work for our community.
