We are out in Bahrampur village, which is part of the Mansurchak block. It’s a quiet area for the most part. The hospital is located at Sami Akhter’s place. Being an OPC, it is a small venture, mostly just focusing on the basic needs of the village folks. In a place like Bahrampur, word travels fast, so we don't really need to advertise. People just know we are here if they have a fever or an injury from working in the fields. The building is plain and blends in with the other houses in the village. We have a small staff of local people who help out. It can get pretty quiet in the afternoons when everyone is resting, but the mornings are usually quite busy with people dropping in before they start their day. We don't have any of those polished marketing slogans. We just open the doors in the morning and see who needs help. The roads out here aren't the best, especially after it rains, but we manage. Most of our work is just practical, everyday medicine. We like it that way. It’s honest work and we are serving our own community.
