Aatamnirvhar Pragati Foundation

Our foundation is located at Sh. Mahesh Singh’s place in the village of Balia Tola. It is in the Rajla panchayat within the Kurhani block. It is a very quiet area and mostly people here are involved in farming. We don't have a big fancy headquarters. It is just a room in the village where we get together to talk about how to make things better. We want people to be able to take care of themselves without always needing outside help. It is tough because resources are thin here. We spend a lot of time walking to different houses and talking to the families. We don't have a car so we just go on foot or use a bicycle. We are not a big fancy group from the city. We are just part of this village. Sometimes we struggle to get people to listen to new ideas because things have been done the same way for a long time. We don't give up though. We just keep trying and showing up every day. Our desks are old and we don't have a computer. We do everything by hand in big ledgers. It is a slow way of working but it is all we have right now. We are just honest folks trying to help our neighbors stand on their own two feet. It is hard work but it feels right to do it here in Kurhani.
