Sumir Chand Steel

Sumir Chand Steel is located about 5 Km out of the main town area. We are right near the Rana Vedantha Farm House which everyone knows because of the weddings they host there. Our place is much more basic than the farm house though. It is mostly just stacks of steel and a small shed where we keep the records. The road out here gets very dusty when the wind picks up. We spend a lot of time moving heavy beams and checking the inventory lists. My hands stay dirty most of the day because of the iron and rust. We don't have a fancy reception area or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. Usually, if the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. We have a big earthen pot for water to keep it cool during the summer heat. It works better than any machine. Some days it is very quiet out here and other days we have trucks lined up all the way to the main road. We don't do any advertising. People find us because they need steel and someone told them we were out past the farm house. We just focus on the loading and unloading. It’s hard physical work but it keeps us busy. The sun goes down and we lock the gate and that is a normal day for us.
