You can find us at 210 Gautam Ji Gali, which is right on Railway Road near the Bank of India. It’s a crowded street with people rushing to the station, but we’ve been here for a while now. Nirmala Devi Children’s Foundation is really just a couple of rooms where we try to organize things for the local kids. It gets pretty loud with the trains passing by and the market noise, but it gives the place a lot of energy. We don't have a fancy setup. There’s usually a stack of books in one corner and some old files in another. We spend most of our time just trying to keep everything running smoothly. We’re not some big organization with lots of funding. It’s mostly just us putting in our own time and energy. We see the same faces every day on the street and that makes us feel like we’re part of something real. We don't have a script for how we talk to people or a polished presentation for what we do. We just tell it like it is and hope for the best. Sometimes it’s exhausting, but when you see a kid smile, it makes the cluttered office and the noise worth it. We’re just trying to make a small difference in our own little corner. Most evenings we're still here just finishing up the last bits of the day and getting things ready for tomorrow.
