Most people use those as landmarks because the road can get pretty busy and it is easy to miss our turn. The office is very much a working space, often filled with people wearing sturdy boots and jackets. We have a lot of gear coming in and out because of the nature of microsurfacing. There is a big desk near the entrance where we keep the logs and the phone, and then a larger area in the back for the heavy stuff. It can get a bit loud when the trucks are nearby or when we are moving equipment around. The walls have some maps pinned to them and a few schedules that get updated with markers every few days. It is a practical environment where the focus is on the logistics and making sure everything is where it needs to be. We drink a lot of tea here, especially when the weather gets a bit cold outside. It is not a place for sitting around in suits; we are usually busy coordinating the next job or checking on the machinery. The parking area out front is often dusty, but that’s just how it is when you’re doing this kind of work.
